  1. Tell us what does fitness meanS to you -Fitness is inside out..One cannot be forced to workout, and you cannot wait for a cardiac arrest to start jogging. It needs to be a lifestyle choice and imbibed into your daily routine like any other natural activity of sleeping or eating. Also just because your friend likes yoga or kickboxing or that's whats trending doesnt mean it suits you.Choose what your heart says yes to as only if you love it will you stick with it and only then will you see results.
  2. Tell us about zumba and its benefits - Zumba is a dance -fitness program inspired by Latin and international rhythms and moving millions of people across 185 countries towards a healthy lifestyle. Zumba is a total body workout wherein one can burn between 500-800 calories every class burning fat and building muscle.

  6. Any Ab Advice For Our Readers????- Its a myth that one can isolate a particular body part and lose inches from there .One has to workout the entire body and of course extra work on the abs .Yes everyone would suggest crunches and to kill it.But the trick is that whatever exercise youre doing whether its a class of Zumba or spinning hold your core tight while continuously breathing normally. This is almost like crunching continuously for an hour .Results are amazing not only on inch loss but also excellent posture

The #Fit #Wedding #Diaries -Special Feature-Losing Weight Bride/Groom For The Big Day

There are 100s of weddings at any given point of time There's nothing like an engagement ring to motivate a woman or a man to get serious about weight loss. The clothes. The photos. The honeymoon! You're dropping lots of cash for a fabulous event and will be standing with your butt—er, back—to dozens, maybe even hundreds of guests during your ceremony. With so many wonderful things happening on your to be day It's no wonder women go to great strides to look their best on their wedding day. And if your upcoming wedding is serving as inspiration for you to tackle your weight or fitness issues, that's great. We all need to find our motivation, and a wedding has a deadline that can inspire you to take action.

Problem is, many brides/grooms-to-be resort to extreme measures and quick fixes to drop the pounds quickly. Some of those methods may work a little (even if they're not so safe or healthy), but often times they fail—miserably. That's because quick fixes, diet pills, and extreme exercise plans don't usually deliver, especially in the long term.

Even amid the stress of wedding planning, it is possible to stick with or even start a healthy diet and fitness program and lose weight. How? Commit to your plan. You just have to choose to stay in control, one day at a time, no matter what life and wedding planners may throw at you

1.Track your food. That means all of it, from the spoonful of soup you sampled for your reception menu to the little bites of cake you taste and the spoonful of butter chicken you tasted . These "hidden" calories are easy to gloss over but can really add up.

2. Sample smart. A continuation of tip #1, if you know you're going to be sampling a variety of foods in a short period of time, keep the portions small. Just one or two bites of cake or your caterer's signature fish dish should be sufficient for taste testing. And if you know you're going to sample a variety of sweets one day, cut back on sugary foods for the next few days to get back on track. Decide which foods you'll have (and how much)

3. Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the easiest meal to prepare and it sets the stage for your day. Eat a healthful breakfast to get your metabolism fired up, and then you'll be more likely to make healthy choices throughout the day—like ordering a smart lunch and swinging by the gym after work. Even better:Studies have shown breakfast eaters tend to consume fewer total calories during the day than people who don't eat a morning meal.

4. Make fitness a priority. I like to remind people that food is only one part of the equation that determines whether you'll lose or gain weight. Fitness is just as important. Don't let your workouts go by the wayside. If anything, you should be trying to work out more than before if you really want to drop a few pounds, especially around the days that you're sampling all of that rich and delicious food. With a hectic schedule, how will you fit it in? That's what this next tip is for.

5.Your workouts are your APPOINTMENTS You wouldn't miss your cake tasting, pre-marriage counseling session or dress fitting, would you? Add your workouts to your calendar so that other obligations don't get in the way of your gym time. When meeting to discuss plans with your fiancĂ©, parents, bridal party or wedding planner, head out for a walk (or pace around the room if you're on the phone) for a little multitasking. And when your bridal party wants to schedule your bachelorette party, tell them you'll be there, but not until after Pilates class lets out.
The Indian Bride And Groom

6. Limit alcohol. It lowers inhibitions, making it more likely that you'll forget about your nutrition plan and overindulge. Plus, alcohol alone is pretty high in calories. If you can relax and de-stress without drinking at all, you'll be better off. If you must drink, nurse your glass slowly, choose diet friendly drinks and limit the number of servings. Oh and yes, alcohol does contain calories so be careful

7. Don't make mountains out of molehills. It's easy to go over your calories one day and feel like a failure. But remember that it takes much more than one day of overeating to thwart your progress. Accept your slip-ups, learn from them and move on.

8. Steer clear of fads. When someone is desperate to lose weight quickly, she'll usually turn to some questionable measures. Be on the lookout for FAD DIETS and don't fall for FITNESS GIMMICKS either. How do you spot them? By their too-good-to-be-true claims. Fad diets don't work and their results are fleeting. Rather than risk an approach like that, stick with simple, healthy habits that you know make a difference, like the items on this list.

9. Maintain an active lifestyle. Remember that "running" errands as you plan your wedding isn't the same as actually running—or exercising for that matter. Don't confuse busyness with fitness. The more physical activity you can add to your days (in addition to planned fitness) the better off you'll be. Try short workouts

10. Keep an emergency snack on hand. Stashing some healthy foods in your car, purse, and desk drawer can help satisfy your cravings and prevent you from going overboard on all the wrong foods. This is a good idea when you're hungry at work and cookies sound tempting, or when you're out all day and see the glowing fast food signs beckoning you.
11. Don't let yourself get to hungry. Between smart snacking and balanced meals, keeping your body properly fueled can help you keep hunger at bay.Eating too little, on the other hand, creates monstrous cravings that are too hard to ignore. When you let yourself become ravenous, you'll grab anything, and usually a lot of it, to quell your discomfort. Keep hunger at bay with proper planning. Bring snacks with you. Keep healthy options on hand. And never go more than 4 hours without eating.

12. Manage stress. What future bride isn't worried about the details, the planning, and even fit of her dress? Life doesn't stop just because you're planning a wedding, and all that stress can do a number on your mental health—and your waistline. It's no secret that stress contributes to weight gain especially if you're prone to emotional eating. Make sure a little Relaxation even if it's as simple as a 1-minute breathing exercise or an extra couple of minutes in a hot shower. Of course, exercise is a great way to relieve stress and help you reach your goal weight.

13. Drink your water. Recent studies found that when people drink more water throughout the day, they end up eating fewer total calories.Drinking water before each meal resulted in greater weight loss. Water and water rich foods can help fill you up longer. Keep a cup of water in hand at parties, sip water between bites, and meet your daily quota to help prevent overeating.

14. Slow down. Savour your food and the experience of eating. You'll eat less, feel more satisfied, and recognize feelings of hunger before it's too late.

15. Keep your eye on the prize. Before you take a bite or hit snooze instead of hitting the gym, remember your goals. It's going to take work to reach your goals, and it won't always be easy. Before you act, ask yourself, "Will this help me achieve my goal by my wedding day?" If not, make another decision. And remember that YOU are in control of your life and your choices

LIFESTYLE SEGMENT-11 THINGS MEN SIMPLY DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT WOMEN

WHAT DO YOU ALL DO TOGETHER IN THE BATHROOM?Is the question that pops in his head hahaha!!!The whole “men are from Mars, women are from Venus” thing is total bullshit, but there are still some things that men just cannot wrap their heads around Heres how this is wink wink ;)

1. Bra sizes. We understand the basic concepts of A and DD and that there’s also number but we have absolutely no point of reference. We don’t know what chest size a 36 actually is. Also, the whole idea of chest underwear. We don’t have to deal with it.
2. Tampons. So you women just like, stick them up there right? We’re pretty sure we know how they work, but it’s not like we’ve ever seen them in action. How do you get so good at concealing them? We’ve never seen an unwrapped one in the wild.
3. Periods in general. Do you bleed the whole time? How do you know when you’re done? Can you feel it all day? Yeah, health class taught us the logistics, but we still have so many unanswered questions.
4. Girls night. There is no male equivalent. What do you do when you’re out? Is it a secret meeting? WHY CAN’T A GUY COME TO CHILI’S WITH YOU?
5. Heels. How do you walk in them without literally snapping your ankle? We could barely handle Nickelodeon Moon Shoes as a kid. We don’t have the grace to walk around on something like that.6. Shoes in general. We have like, three pairs of shoes tops, and they each perform unique functions. We don’t understand a fourth, let alone a 24th.
7. Going to the bathroom in groups. Guys go to the bathroom, hope it’s empty, and if there is someone else in there, you do not acknowledge them. No eye-contact, no small talk. You are in, your penis is out, you’re peeing, you’re leaving the bathroom (don’t forget to put your penis back in). Why would you willingly bring people in with you while you pee?
8. Why you insist on our opinions when we don’t have one to give. What color should we paint the wall? We don’t know. We don’t care. Ok, if you need an answer, how about white? White isn’t a color you can paint a wall? See, we’re out of our element and we just get yelled at for giving you an answer.
9. How women always smell good. What is it? What do you do? Is that your natural musk? Guys always smell like sweat and Subway sandwiches and a bunch of cologne.
10. All those skincare products. We have soap, probably shampoo, and maybe moisturizer. What are they other things you guys have all over the bathroom? How do different parts of the skin need different things? It’s literally one organ.
11. How you look good at the gym. Why do you look like you stepped out of a fitness catalogue while we’re standing over here in our raggedy-ass sweatpants with broken elastic?

THE TRUTH ABOUT BEER AND BEER BELLY-BOYS DONT MISS THIS ONE

Is there any beverage that’s more versatile than beer?  If you have a "beer belly," you are not alone. It seems beer drinkers across the globe have a tendency to grow bellies especially as they get older, and especially if they are men.Not all beer drinkers have them some teetotalers sport large ones.So what really causes men, and some women, to develop the infamous paunch?

It’s commonly assumed that there is a direct correlation between the amount of beer men consume and the size of their beer bellies, but how accurate is this perception? Is there really a link between beer and beer bellies?READ ON and know the truth
Despite the common ”beer belly” moniker, excess belly flab is not always caused by swigging too many pints of liquid bread. Beer, at around 140 calories per 12-ounce bottle, is high in calories, and frequent imbibing can result in the extra calories that lead to a distended waistline. So, in this manner, the answer is yes. However, like fat that appears in other areas of the body, it has more to do with how many overall calories you consume versus how many you’re burning through regular exercise. Your body can’t tell the difference between beer-related calories and extra calories from any other food. So, the answer is also no
Why is fat deposited in the belly?
Calories certainly hold part of the answer, but so does age:metabolism slows down after the age of 35, so you may find that the more calendars you go through, the more trouble you have keeping a trim figure. Another part of the reason has to do with your gender. While most women tend to keep their extra flab on their hips, thighs and buttocks, men commonly store fat around the waist. So, combine your age and gender with an excess of calories, and the result can be a charming pot belly. It’s not necessarily beer but too many calories that can turn your trim waistline into a belly that protrudes over your pants. Any kind of calories -- whether from alcohol, sugary beverages, or over sized portions of food -- can increase belly fat. However, alcohol does seem to have a particular association with fat in the midsection.
"In general, alcohol intake is associated with bigger waists, because when you drink alcohol, the liver burns alcohol instead of fat,"Beer also gets the blame because alcohol calories are so easy to overdo. A typical beer has 150 calories – and if you down several in one sitting, you can end up with serious calorie overload. And don’t forget calories from the foods you wash down with those beers. Alcohol can increase your appetite. Further, when you're drinking beer at a bar or party, the food on hand is often fattening fare like pizza, wings, and other fried foods.

Is belly fat a health risk?
Not only is it an unattractive accessory, belly fat — or visceral fat — is getting extra attention as one of the riskiest kinds of extra flab a person can sport. People with excess belly fat have a tendency to develop nasty conditions such as insulin resistance, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases, and high cholesterol over and above the already increased risk a person receives from other forms of obesity

So you've had a few too many pints and chicken wings over the years, which has led to unwanted belly bulge. How do you undo the damage you've wreaked on your waistline and get rid of that beer belly once and for all?
For starters, it isn't going to be easy. Visceral fat is stubborn and it will take some hard work to make it go away. Your best bet is  Consume fewer calories and start moving your body. Fat-burning, or aerobic, exercise is going to be your biggest ally in the war against the beer belly. Run, walk, swim, bike, play team sports — you can do nearly anything as long as you’re building up a sweat. Try to exercise five times a week for at least 30 minutes each session.
It’s always a good idea to augment fat-burning exercise with strength training, but start slowly and give your muscles a day or two of rest between weight training. Also, no matter what those late-night infomercials tell you, there’s no way to spot-reduce a beer belly into submission. No number of sit-ups is going to give you washboard abs if your stomach is buried under a layer of fat — your muscles will be getting stronger, but they will also be invisible because they’re covered with flab.
If you’re one of the lucky men who have danced through life paunch-free so far, don’t think you’re safe from developing a beer belly. The best way to prevent flab from making a home on your waistline is to live as if you’re trying to get rid of it. Eat healthy foods, stay active and when you indulge in alcohol, do so in moderation. This should go a long way toward making sure the dreaded beer belly stays far away from you.
