Meet the very beautiful and vibrant Jennipha-Lauren Nielsen as she talks exclusively to Bhumicka.com about being fit and making a difference.
Jennipha-Lauren Nielsen

Tell us what does fitness mean to you
Fitness is part of my perfect formula. As a Miss California, I was shown the importance; beauty, brains and determination that plays in a girl’s success. Studies have shown people who workout regularly are better able to manage stress and are better organized to seek out success.

Tell us a bit about your journey so far
I have been small, I’ve been large.... 100 KG!! So no girl can say I don’t understand. You can be your best or worst but is always up to you. In my 20s my intestines developed a condition, where I gained 50 kg. They were able to fix the problem but it was up to me, to lose the weight. Today I am grateful for the experience.
With Friend Aamer
Your fav workout?
I developed a workout routine that utilizes my 20+ years of ballet with a blend of light weight training and balance work. My tools of choice are the BOSU, stretch-bands and two 8 pound weights. Starting with yoga/ballet stretches sometimes for an hour. Concentrated stretching is a workout, don’t be fooled, expect to sweat. Flexibility is so important as you age. Have you seen your grandparent unable to bend low, struggle to pick things up and tie their shoes….. its about maintaing flexibility. As I age it may take longer but my flexibility is still there because NEVER STOP STRETCHING! Using the BOSU, I use my core and do a lot of balance work . This is great for women looking to get and KEEP a strong, lean body. Focusing on the skeletal muscles is so important. You will find your entire life changes the stronger and healthier your body is. I walk taller, straighter when I work out. My shoulders naturally fall back slimming my entire figure.
Tell us what you love wearing when you workout
My UNIFORM ! Exercise pants, tank and trainers. I really feel wearing proper workout clothes helps to keep my head in the activity. Putting on my uniform, my whole self prepares for the activity I’m about to take on.
What motivates you
Personally I found using exercise as the “reward", is a great way to look at it. Get my project done, clean the house or finish at the office and hit the gym! I’ve developed such a positive connotation to going to the gym, my mood is elevated just thinking about it…. like ice cream !
Your role model is?
My auntie and father. Earliest memories watching my aunt putting her hair up in hot rollers while working out on a stationary bicycle. She is now in her early 70s and is mistaken for a woman in her 40s. She showed me that if you care for your mind, body and soul… as your temple it should be treated that way.

Give us some advice on fitness and eating habits
When it comes to food, I don’t mess around. My basic diet is meat and vegetables. I eat lots of cheese and fruits that are low in sugar. Avoiding breads, rice, noodles as it can cause to much yeast to form in the body. BUT… now that is a big but, if I feel like a muffin, toast, chips, chocolate, cake or anything else… I EAT IT. Eating healthy in my book isn’t able denying yourself but remembering treats are treats not stables!

Stress is a big factor what can you say about it
Working out to Sade, is great ! It calms my mind and I feel sexy moving to it. Her songs keep a good beat and my motions are fluid. I keep headphones in, once she sings I close my eyes and I am in my own world. It is a sensual experience. Hear good things, see good things and feel good. In my line of work I’ve seen the worst of the world and the best as well. Life is about balance, be like the surfer… find yours and ride the wave.
Your fav dessert
For me its always fruit and not just for dessert, love it all year round. Traveling internationally my work allows me to experience foods I might never have experienced. Partial to exotic fruits.

Give our readers especially the women out there some beauty tips Lots Sleep, water and low stress, make a point to be grateful. Living in grace is the key to a long and happy life. Its amazing what wonderful things are in store. Live with an open heart and don’t be afraid to be the first to smile.

Muscle Makeover -BUTT!

Well you gotta admit we all check out the butt!! Someone walking in the room or leaving,a good butt makes a great impression for both men and women. so If you've been focusing a great deal of attention on building your upper body and are now finding that your lower body could use some work, you need to start making use of the following tips.

The great news is that as you train to improve your butt, you’ll also hit the hamstrings and quads at the same time, providing a very well-rounded workout plan.

Do Full Squats

Squats should be a part of any lower body workout program, but when doing your them, one thing to focus on is squatting as low to the ground as possible.
Many people only go down to 90 degrees and while this may be necessary if you suffer from knee pain, but men who don’t suffer from any need to go all the way down. The lower down to the ground you go, the more effective that squat is going to be. It’s during the lowest portion of the exercise that the glutes are most stimulated.
Add Jump Lunges To Your Protocol
One overlooked exercise that’s great for your butt is jump lunges. You know the regular lunge provides a peak muscular contraction, but by adding a jump into the mix, you’re also boosting your power capabilities as well. Jump lunges will cause every single last muscle fiber to contract in the glutes, ensuring optimal stimulation.

Finish Off With Endurance Walking Lunges

After you've finished an intense lower body workout, perform a set of walking lunges until you’re fully fatigued.  This is a great way to maximally exhaust the glutes, especially when the quads and hamstrings are already fatigued from all the squats and deadlifts you've already done.

Alternate Between Dead lifts & Squats Forming the foundation of your lower body workout program should be dead lifts along with squats. However  if you are just starting a workout regime because both of these workouts are so intense -- be sure to perform them on alternating days and not both in one session. For those who have been lifting for a while now this is magic for your legs and can be done on the same day

Uphill Sprints/Brisk Walking

If you typically perform your interval Cardio sessions on flat ground, crank things up by going up a hill instead. This not only pushes your cardiovascular system to the max, but it’ll also help build lower body muscle. For those who perform their cardio activities on the treadmill its time to hit the uphill button and feel the burn on ur butt and legs Furthermore, after an intense uphill sprint training workout session, you’ll burn calories faster for hours following the workout.
So people revv up your metabolic rate  through these workouts and attain a great butt.until my next blog stay sexy ;)

MEN TALK-Things Men Never Notice About Women

Men are notoriously bad at picking up on small details. Thats a fact no wonder i see so many angry gfs and wives expecting a compliment everytime we think we have done something new. It’s not because men don’t care, it’s because they not paying attention to what’s going on. Don’t hold it against them, but it’s a miracle they retain information like what our face looks like, let alone that the blue shirt we are wearing is different than the blue shirt we have seen you wear before.
This is what men say
Shaved/unshaved legs. Unless you’re coming at us like Sasquatch we probably can’t tell you have a little bit of stubble on your legs.

New jeans.  We can’t even tell the difference between our own jeans, let alone yours.

No makeup. Women never believe this, but sometimes we don’t notice you’re not wearing makeup. We really don’t. And then we get yelled at for lying. This is one of life’s greatest mysteries.

Cellulite. Everyone is more critical of their own body. Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever seen cellulite, but the countless times I’ve been called a liar tell me otherwise.

A new haircut.  Unless you shaved your head, we’re not going to realize your hair is half an inch shorter.

Circles under the eyes. Sorry for getting lost in the vast and beautiful wilderness that are the deep pools of longing also known as your eyes and not noticing that you look kind of tired. HOW AM I IN TROUBLE NOW?

Blush . We don’t know what blush is, so how can we even tell when you’ve changed it?

Some new decoration in your room. I’m not spending the next 20 minutes going on a scavenger hunt to find the one new coaster in your living room.

A new shade of lipstick. Listen, there is the color “red lipstick.” That is the only color of lipstick I’m aware of. I don’t know what all these other colors are, but they’re not real.
Men are nodding their head and women are smiling
so ladies cut men some slack!!! until my next blog stay sexy

Look Younger Ladies-Avoid These Diet And Beauty Mistakes

1-YO YO DIETING
We all know that Yoo yoo dieting  isn’t great for our bodies. But it turns out that rapidly and repeatedly losing and gaining weight actually makes us look older, tooyo-yo dieting alters the ligaments in the face that support the soft tissue, thereby changing the actual shape of the face. According to the article, changes in facial shape can make us look older.
THE fix: Find your ideal weight and maintain a healthy diet and exercise plan to help you stay there.
2-Wrong lipstick shades can age you Another trick to looking younger is to steer clear of brown lipstick shades. Avoid matte lipstick as they tend to settle into your lip lines. Instead, try creamier lipsticks or glosses. (Glosses are especially youthful and make your lips appear bee-stung).

3-Not Standing up straight. Think about all the sexy women you know. They stand up straight and confidently. Not only will this make you look ten pounds thinner in seconds, it will make you look five years younger as well.

4-SMOKING--The moment you take a drag on a cigarette you are beginning to shave years off your life. The longer you smoke, the more severely cigarettes age you. When you smoke, you increase your risk of dying from heart disease, stroke, lung disease, eye disease, bone disease and cancer of almost every organ. And you probably also look older too.

Smoking causes prominent crow's feet, deep creases, and smoker's lines around the mouth. Tobacco smoke compromises the production of collagen, elastin and skin proteins that make skin strong and elastic. Without the support of these skin components, the skin degrades faster and more severely. Tobacco smoke also produces reactive oxygen species (ROS) that accelerates skin aging. Nicotine may also be involved in premature smoking-related aging because it constricts blood vessels, blocking nutrients from reaching skin cells, which in turn wither and die. And speaking of dying? Smokers die on average 10 to 14 years before nonsmokers. And death is pretty much the most extreme form of premature aging there is.

5-NOT USING SUNSCREEN

When you use sunscreen , you're not just helping to protect yourself from diseases like skin cancer ; you're also helping to prevent the signs of skin aging that come from sun exposure. Skin that's left naked in the sun ends up more discolored and wrinkled and less elastic than skin that has been steadily shielded from UV radiation.
In fact, what most of us think of as "aged skin" is, more specifically, sun-damaged skin

5-STRESS
Situations that cause prolonged angst can also affect facial appearance. And it’s not just a question of dark circles or wrinkles—stress can lead to acne, brittle nails, hives and even hair loss. Plus, those under a lot of stress tend to neglect their skin, which can compound the situation. Worse still, chronic extreme stress doesn't just have the power to make you appear older, it can actually cause you to become physically older.

The fix: While you can't necessarily avoid a divorce or quit your job, you can seek out ways to help deal with that stress.  So whether it’s yoga, kick-boxing or meditating, find something that helps you DE-stress and unwind.

6-EATING TOO MUCH SUGAR
When you consume sugars, they are converted to glucose in your body and enter the bloodstream, where they then search out and attach to skin proteins. Once attached, they form new molecules called advanced-glaciation end products, or AGEs. What does that have to do with your face? The more sugar consumed, the more AGE s you create, and these AGEs mess with your body’s collagen and elastin, which help maintain your skin’s firmness and elasticity. In short: too much sugar leads to sagging, wrinkled skin.

The fix: Reduce the amount of AGEs your body produces by avoiding sugary products, especially the processed foods they tend to hide in. Know sugar by its many names: corn syrup (especially bad is high-fructose corn syrup), glucose, fructose, dextrose and sucrose are among the more common ingredients, while saccharose, treacle, xylose, dextrin and maltodextrin are some of its trickier disguises.

7-NOT EATING ANTIOXIANTS

ANTI OXIDANTS are widely believed to be beneficial for both cardiovascular health and cancer prevention. They're found in all sorts of foods, including fruits, vegetables, seafood and oils. Antioxidants' free-radical-fighting activities destroy molecules that can damage healthy cells, and as it turns out, they're as great for skin cells as they are for every other cell in the body.
While many different antioxidants can be beneficial to the skin, two in particular get lots of attention:
  • Vitamin c -- Builds Collagen for plump, tight skin. Find it in whole grains, apples and citrus fruits
  • Vitamin e -- Protects cell membranes and "boosts" skin-based nutrients that fight off UV damage. Find it in wheat germ oil, almonds, and peanut butter.

Most Popular-Your Weekend Friend ALCOHOL-Calories,Weightgain Explained

So i meet a lot of men and women asking me how many calories in alcohol??Can i drink and still lose weight? How can i avoid the deadly hangover and not get sick!!Phew so i decided to dedicate an entire article to your dear weekend friend ALCOHOL
An alcoholic beverage is a drink that contains ethanol.
You can drink and still lose weight but moderation here is the key. Most people start with a glass and end up consuming half a bottle and well some shots to top it AND TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR DRINKING CAPACITY like that is going to help?
If you are not drinking alcohol take a sip of my mocKtail Bhumicka's Passion In goa's Biggest Night club TITOS MAMBOS.

Ok so back to Alcohol temporarily keeps your body from burning fat The reason is that your body can't store calories from alcohol for later, the way it does with food calories. So when you drink, your metabolic system must stop what it's doing (like, say, burning off calories from your last meal) to get rid of the booze.
"Drinking presses 'pause' on your metabolism, shoves away the other calories, and says, 'Break me down first! The result is that whatever you recently ate gets stored as fat.
What's worse that alcohol especially decreases fat burn in the belly, "That's why you never hear about 'beer hips,' you hear about a 'beer belly.'"

One thing you probably didnt know is some drinks make you hungrier
When it comes to waist-friendly cocktails, the simpler the drink, the better. Not only do the sweet-and-fancy ones tend to have more calories, but the additional sugar can make you even hungrier: Your blood sugar skyrockets higher than it does on beer, wine, or a shot of something making cravings worse

And then there are the calories! Booze has 7 calories per gram, making it the second-most calorie-dense macro nutrient. (That's just below pure fat, which has 9 calories per gram.) This means a measly 1.5-ounce jigger of vodka has almost 100 calories. Mix that up with some club soda and lime, and it's a reasonable tipple, but when you start tossing together a whole bunch of different liquors—whether it's a hipster fizz made with bourbon, or a dive-bar Long Island iced tea loaded with vodka, rum, tequila, and gin—it really adds up (to the tune of 300 calories, in the case of a Long Island).

Heres an estimate of the calories you are consuming do the math according to your capacity!!!
THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE the drink you mixing your alcohol with
Your vodka 1 shot is 75 calories and if you mix it with 200 ml orange juice that will be an additional 150 calories so just 1 vodka is costing u roughly 225 calories a drink! multiply this by your capaity Oh boyy im already beginning to see some hefty numbers do the math yourself
RED WINE 125 ML=85 CALORIES
WHISKEY-1 SMALL SHOT=75 CALORIES
BACARDI 250 ML =55 CALORIES
CHAMPAGNE 120 ML=90 CALORIES
VODKA 1 SHOT ML =75 CALORIES
SCOTCH WHISKEY 1 SHOT 35 ML 80 CALORIES
JACK DANIELS 1 SHOT 35ML 80 CALORIES
SPARKLING WHITE WINE 120 ML 90 CALORIES
HEINEKEN LAGER 1 BOTTLE 250 ML =110 CALORIES
GUINNESS 200 ML 75 CALORIES
PORT 50 ML 80 CALORIES
FOSTERS LAGER 550 ML 230 CALORIES
BAILEYS IRISH CREAM 37 ML 130 CALORIES
BRANDY ML 75 CALORIES
GIN 35 ML 72 CALORIES

Alcoholic drinks are high in calories particularly common beverages such as beer and cocktails. However, by cutting back on the amount you drink, it can significantly help to reduce your calorie intake.
Another way to drink less calories is to opt for a low calorie mixer such as a diet coke or soda. Drinking water or low calorie soft drinks between alcoholic drinks is not only a good way to reduce your calorie intake but also helps to reduce the amount of units you’re drinking.

The morning after poses a new diet challenge. As if a hangover weren't punishment enough, you're fighting cravings for large amounts of cheesy, greasy fast food. Part of the problem is that you're dehydrated (don't forget, alcohol is a diuretic), and that can make you feel even hungrier,But that's not the only thing at play. "The body needs energy to resolve the effects of a big night of drinking, so it wants the richest source of energy it can find, which is fat,"

To avoid that: When you're out, drink a big glass of water for every drink you have. Then, before going to bed, have some more, along with a snack that is high in fiber and protein such as high-fiber cereal or oatmeal,"You'll get important nutrients into the body that were lost during alcohol consumption"Plus, foods rich in fiber stay in the stomach longer, so you'll be less prone to hunger in the morning." With any luck, you'll also be less likely to overdo it in the a.m., ensuring your figure won't have to pay the price for a night out.

So if you are drinking in moderation a drink or 2 wont play havoc in your diet or weight gain.Moderate alcohol with a good amount of snaking and working out can keep you on the track but for those who cant find their balance Alcohol sure is a reason for your weight gain
Until my next blog drink in moderation dont drink and drive and stay fit

Valentine Special-Things you need to learn from the BOYS this Summer(In gym of course) ;)

Yes ladies this  I know most of ull are rolling your eyes or raising your eyebrows but the fact is when it comes to gym training the boys teach us a lot and the things we do wrong...Not convinced READ ON!!!Boys will agree

#1 Have you ever seen a guy jump on the treadmill and trot there for hours without breaking a sweat?Or conversing with a friend about the latest fashion doing the rounds and not even gasping for breath when doing a cardio session????Sounds familiar?Because men don't do that its us girls! Men don't do the talking when they are working out they catch up in between their rest time and if they are doing cardio they are not walking like a model on ramp. They mean business. They are doing some serious running and High Intensity Cardio They keep the duration short and intense so you are burning max calories from it.So the next time girls you are wondering why you are not losing the stubborn fat around your belly take a cue from the guys and start with some serious intensity you should not be able to have a conversation with your best buddy beside you that how hard you cardio should get!
#2 Have you ever seen a guy who does not train with weights?!Difficult to picture that right. We ladies get to starving for that tiny weeny waist while the men eat their meals and eat again and again and we wonder what the heck is going on.Science is going on!The more muscle mass we have the more calories our bodies burn. The more weights we lift the more lean muscle mass we gain.
But whats going on with you ladies. The most common thing i hear is oh i don't lift weights because that makes me BULKY!Girls seriously lifting weights WILL NOT MAKE YOU BULKY because you do not have that testosterone that men do to gain that kind of muscle.Even the most competitive female body builder have to train hours take different variety of supplements to get somewhere near that look  .Take a cue from the guy LIFT do 1 or 2 body parts a day 12-15 reps and get losing those inches

#3 have u seen men training on their ABS everyday?Do u see them doing situps or crunches everyday? Or for that matter any body part everyday?? No !!! Then why do you girls go do crunches every single day expecting a flat stomach? The guys train 1-2 body per week that's all is needed to overload the muscle and let it grow.ABDOMINAL IS ALSO A MUSCLE train it 1 max 2 times a week. Also exercises like squats lunges and back exercises are stimulating your core other days a week. So girls stop over working your ab muscles go hit legs or back

So ladies learn from your valentine this valentine Stay fit and happy until my next blog be sexy and stylish :*
